Here, among stone terraces and olive groves, they cultivated the olive and pressed its fruit into liquid gold — precious as food, medicine and ritual.

Rome inherited their world.

Across the Roman lands, olive oil became part of daily life and ceremony, preserved and carried in amphorae shaped by hand from clay and fire.

Empires vanished.

The olive remained.

Today, under the same Tuscan sun, olives ripen on the hills of Val d'Orcia and become Extra Virgin Olive Oil — cold extracted, pure and deeply rooted in its land.

Anforantica is a continuation of that story.

Tuscan olive oil, presented in a handmade clay amphora inspired by the vessels of the ancient Mediterranean.

Authenticity

Every Anforantica amphora is more than a vessel — it is an individual piece, created to carry its own identity, history and story through time.

With each amphora, its personal Amphora Passport is passed to the new owner, preserving the unique number and provenance of the vessel and the precious oil entrusted to it.

Like the documents that once accompanied objects of value across the ancient world, the Passport becomes part of the amphora itself — a record of authenticity, origin and continuity.

It remains with the amphora as the years pass, linking its first journey from Tuscany with every chapter still to come.

For an even more personal gesture, an Amphora Owner Certificate may be ordered as an option.

Created in the name of the chosen recipient, it solemnly records the moment when the amphora is entrusted to its new owner.

It transforms a gift into a dedication, and possession into a small ceremony of remembrance.

Sextarius: An ancient Roman unit of liquid measure, equal to one-sixth of a congius. It was commonly used for wine, olive oil and other liquids. Its approximate modern equivalent is 0.546 litres.
A.U.C. Dating — Ab Urbe Condita: The ancient Roman A.U.C. dating system counted years from the traditional founding of ancient Rome in 753 BC. Thus, 25 November 2026 corresponds to the year 2779 A.U.C. In the traditional Roman calendar, the date could be written as ante diem VII Kalendas Decembres, A.U.C. 2779 — the seventh day before the Kalends of December.
